Smelly Feet:
Let us face it nearly everyone at some time has
experienced having smelly feet. Even young children
can have foot odour, however not normally caused by
what adults may see as causes. Foot odour is quite
common and not a problem you should overwhelmingly
concern yourself about. Smelly feet are treatable
and curable. Most smells from the lower limbs can
be caused by many factors, by determining
these i.e. the cause, ridding the foot
odor is made easy. Do you feel ashamed of
your smelly feet when in public? Well stop
right there, ashamed you should not be, as
this not a rare condition, and you are not
alone in your suffering. Look to the cause
of the smelly feet and there is every
possibility of removing the smell. Should
your smelly feet be caused by infection
then you may need medical attention as
infection may require
antibiotics.
Is Gout
the cause of Smelly Feet!
Do you
know the reasons why feet smell? Well, it’s
down to bacteria that feed on sweat. Bacterium
is drawn towards sweat on the feet and feeds
off it. These bacteria get rid of waste on the
feet which are in the form of organic acids.
These organic acids have a strong pungent odor
due to which your feet smell
bad.
Remember
whatever the treatment for foot odor you use or
medication you swallow to clear up the problem
you must talk to your doctor first, so he/she
can give a second opinion on the remedy you
have found for treating the odor. First you
should make sure that your smelly feet is not
caused through lack of washing the feet
properly. If you haven’t already, try bathing
the feet with an antibacterial soap.
Drink plenty of
fluids preferably water to help stem body
odor.
Avoid synthetic
materials; cotton is more ideal in
socks.
Spray your feet
regular with antiperspirant and sprinkle foot
powder in footwear.
Do not wear the
same pair of shoes for two days consequently.
Leave shoes to air at every possible moment.
Try not to keep the feet closed in. Change into
slippers instead of keeping the shoes on in the
home. Better still if the feet are left to
breathe. Wearing open sandals is an
alternative.
Wash your feet
with green tea. Bathe in baking soda, along
with a few teaspoons of vinegar, by soothing
feet it helps lessens foot odor.
Dust your feet
once or twice, using cornstarch or
powder.
Take some turnip
juice or radish juice and try rubbing your feet
with it. Being natural deodorants, these juices
are excellent mediums of fighting body
odor.
It is
said that taking a bath with some ginger for a
specific period of time helps the body sweat
and rid the body of toxins. Make a pulpy
mixture of ginger root and mash it up. Rub the
juice on your feet. Soak your feet daily in
strong black tea for 30 minutes. Add two tea
bags in a pint of water. Boil for 10 minutes.
Now add two quarts of cool water and soak your
feet in the cool solution. The acid called
tannic acid present in the black tea kills
bacteria and closes your pores. Always be
cautious about, and with what you treat your
feet with. Although not a part of the body on
view like other most other body parts, they are
still as important. Damaged feet can be
painful, and they are your means of transport
so always seek advice on home remedies or
other.
