Chronic
Depression
Chronic depression - If you suffer from
different mood swings then fret not because there maybe a
perfectly simple explanation as to why the mood swings occur.
However if they seem chronic and severe then you may need
medical attention to determine the cause.
Chronic depression or panic
attacks have been labelled as to being psychological disorders,
a health problem every bit as real as a physical illness, but
the good news is they are treatable. Sometimes the both
mentioned above conditions can be a result of a physical
problem like a premenstrual syndrome. Not in all cases
diagnosed with chronic
depression.

A woman's turbulent mood swings
might be caused by premenstrual syndrome which is a
hormone-sparked gathering of emotional upsets and physical
discomforts that for some women begins around mid-cycle. Study
research released via nutritionists says calcium and vitamins
B, C and E work well. Whereas experts from a different
department suggest that regular exercise like walking is
comforting. Medication is readily available for these
conditions, however because each individual differs - different
medications have to be prescribed, because what works for one
may not for the other?
If
your doctor determines that you have a case of mild mood
disorder then he/she will probably prescribe the drug lithium.
Lithium carbonate can decrease mood alterations in the majority
of people with mood problems. In a statement issued from P
Wender M.D. whose comments stated that Lithium treatment has to
be customized so that the patient has an adequate level of the
medicine in the blood. For that reason your doctor will start
you on a somewhat high dose slowly decreasing dosage. At the
start of treatment you may experience some side effects which
include fatigue, mild nausea, frequent urination and very mild
hand tremors. These will diminish or disappear once the right
dosage has been determined. Some patients fear the fact of
having to take long term medication to treat their
condition/disorder but Dr.Paul Wender says that addiction is
not a problem and is safe for long-term use.
Chronic depression can be mild or
severe when the symptoms kick in, however, whether it be one or
the other you should talk to your doctor regardless of the
problem being chronic depression or not. Do not suffer in
silence talk to some one about any health matters that cause
you to worry.
